AR is not for everyone
If I were to tell you that it is possible to go from Grand Rapids, MI to Tampa, FL in 4 hours, would you believe it was possible? Well, it is possible but NOT if you are flying in this plane.
You are going to need this plane instead.
Augmented reality (AR) is a wonderful experence but it won’t work on all devices. It may work, but not well on some, but it works great IF you have the right equipment. Here is a clue, give it some time. Once you go to the AR portion of this display, give it some time to download all of the data it needs to make the images and sounds appear. There is a lot of data and depending on your equipment, it may take awhile. Please don’t be disapointed if it doesn’t work well, just keep in mind that this works best for those flying a jet. If that’s not you, no need to go out and buy one, we are sure you will end up with one eventually. In any case, have fun.
Your AR (Augmented Reality) experience requires the use of a smartphone, laptop, Chromebook, iPad or some type of portable device. You are welcome to connect to our WIFI while you are here. Open the camera and point it at the QR code that is on the welcome sign. You will then be directed to the AR portion of our website. You will be prompted to allow the site to access your camera. Depending on your device, you may be asked to allow access to other features as well. No data will be collected and these features will be discontinue when you exit the site. These things are necessary in order to see any of the AR content. You will NOT want to miss any of these.
You will now be able to see through your camera. Point your camera at one of the markers around the different scenes. The marker will activate the AR event. You will likely see something appear on your screen and in most cases, also hear additional content.
Our goal is to have 50 markers scattered throughout the Life of Christ display. See if you can find them all. We may not have all of them ready at the time of your first visit. So please come back soon as we will be adding more until we reach our goal. All of these are here to make your experience an enjoyable one. You won’t want to miss any of them.
Here is an outline of what you will need to do.
1. You will click on the link below.
2. You will be taken to the AR portion of our site.
3. Your device will need permission to use your camera and maybe other settings. Just say “Yes”.
4. You will now be able to see through your device’s camera.
5. Point your device at any marker similar to the one above and enjoy.
6. If your device stops responding to the markers, you may need to refresh the page.
